As we enter 2025, we’re excited to share two milestone developments that mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Homeward Bound Villages.
These exciting developments will be integral to our organizational sustainability as we continue to grow in 2025 to bring affordable, cooperative housing to Northwest Indiana.
We Found Our New Office Home:
We are excited to announce that we’ve officially moved into our office space at The Star Center on Franklin Street in Michigan City. This new workspace provides our organization with a dedicated space to collaborate, innovate, and grow our impact. This physical location will be crucial as we tackle our ambitious goals for the coming year.
But a space is only as vibrant as the people within it. We’re thrilled to announce our first strategic hire: Molly Heath. Molly is our Assistant Director of Programs, Communications, and Development. Her expertise and vision will be instrumental in shaping our organization’s future.
We sat down with Molly and asked her to share a few things about herself and her new role with our organization.
Meet Molly:
“I was inspired to be a part of an organization that creates an inclusive and connected community for those needing affordable housing,” Molly said when asked what about Homeward Bound Villages appealed to her.
We began our search for this role in late 2024 and were so thrilled when Molly contacted us. We were excited by the unique perspective Molly brings to the role. Molly said, “I hope to bring an adaptable, ambitious mindset that provides value and dimension to Homeward Bound Villages.”
With a commitment to affordable housing, Molly’s understanding of the situation in La Porte County and the reality that so many are facing in our community made her an excellent fit for the role. Molly said she recognizes the rising cost of living and the challenges this cost rise has on those in the community. This impacted her decision to join our organization.
When we asked her how she would like to guide Homeward Bound Villages in her new role, Molly said, “I envision growing Homeward Bound Villages’ impact in the community by sharing the positive stories of the Karwick Residents and developing more affordable housing communities for the residents of LaPorte County.
Join Us on This Journey These developments are just the beginning. As we settle into our new space and welcome Molly to the team, we’re more energized than ever about the work ahead.
Stay tuned for more updates as we grow and expand our impact.
